It might but the if the snake still has mites than that would be a waste of time. Its expensive but prevent-o-mite works very well. I'd recomend that...and read the directions
My two burmese pythons both had mites as they shared one cage. Fill up a tub full of hot (not too hot) water, dilute it with soap so the water turns soap white. Take the snake and slowly soak him in the water for about 30 minutes. Pull the burm out, rinse him off with a towel. You will see the water all dirty and full of floating dead mites. As far as the cage goes, I gave the burm a different cage, while I filled up his cage with water and added bleach to it and let it stand like that for one day. I than removed the bleach and sprayed some cheap dog mite killing powder all over the cage and let the cage stand in powder for about 5 days ( i guess you can do less), but I wanted to make sure they are gone. Clean the cage with warm water, dry it and put your snake back in. As I introduced my snakes back into their former cage, they never had mites again. They are now clean and healthy. I gave you quick basic steps on what I have done and it worked very well.
