It is absolutey not true that mealworms can chew through the stomach of a chameleon. First of all, it is crunched into several pieces by the time it reaches your chammy's tum tum.
Chamsrcool, Are you sure that mealworms are that much more high in fat and phosphorus? Altough the their fat% is a little higher, Mealworms has an almost equivalent nutritional make-up as a circket. I have consulted in a few nutritional charts to deduce this. However, each chart seem to be rather inconsistent in their ca
ratio. some indicates that mealworms have higher phospurus levels, and some say that crickets do.
However, I hear lots of people using mealworms as a staple. I use mealworms as a staple for one of my panthers, much more than circkets. She seems to only want to eat mealworms. so far she is doing great. So i don't see a problem there.
