My friend has one, but I can't find much info on them. I can't find any for sale, either. Does anyone know their status?
Thanks.

Go to the kingsnake forum, you will likely get a good response.
They are basically getula kings of the Appalachicola region. I think they used to have a subspecific status of "goini" as in Lampropeltis getula goini that was not accepted by all, and I also think it has been removed now. Others will have better info on this.
Hobbiests still call them "goini" to differentiate them from other kings near them. They do have a look all to themselves and have some variation in pattern. They are fairly common in the hobby. The classifieds often feature some for sale.
