Fertile eggs?

xblackheart Dec 07, 2005 07:31 PM

as mentioned before, my female is laying eggs. I introduced her to my male. (I am fully prepared to take care of the eggs, young). I know that the fertile eggs are supposed to be white while infertile are mis-shaped and orange, but since I have never seen one how do I know for sure. Are they dramatically different? I am getting eggs that appear white, but are kinda "saggy" looking like they are not "full". Others in the same batch are all orange and ugly.

once they collapse they will soon grow mold and no baby for you.

make sure that the temperature and moisture are what they should be. Are you using vermiculite?

The female dragon is actually a class pet. I am trying to convince the teacher to put in an egg box. The last bunch of eggs were just layed on the ground as she has no where to dig. I have finally convinced the teacher that if she has no where to dig, (even if she has not been mated) she could retain the eggs and die. So, I will be keeping her with me over break and she will have semi moist sand and a box with semi moist vermiculite. I read that using unfertilized potting soil is good. Which is the best?

for egg laying box i use about 75% soil 25% vermiculite and enought water so that it clumps together when squeezed between fingers

for the incubator i use 100% vermiculite and as moist as the egg laying box.
