growing live plants in a terrarium?????does it work

CpAyRtPhEoTn0804 Dec 08, 2005 01:55 AM

i have a rather large enclosure i recently built for my middle aged jungle carpet python, i have heat lamps, a substrate heater, and a UVB bulb. my question is will just a simple plant like an ivy obtain enough nutrients from the the UVB bulb or is another bulb required to allow plants to grow properly
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I've got a couple plants in the terrarium for my timor monitor and theyre bothing doing well and the monitor loves 'em. I would stay away from ivy if i were you because i beleive its toxic and i'd rather be safe than sorry. the only lighting i have for it is a red heat bulb and surrounding light from the window and desk lamp (on my desk next to the terrarium)
