I have been searching for a female marginated tortoise two for quite some time. If anyone can offer any assitance, please let me know. I can pay a good price and am tired of receiving emails from supposed Cameroon or Nigerian reptile keepers who offer me their google image search result marginated tortoises.
For a species which is hardy and breeds well, there are so few female around. Your assistance would be appreciated! Thanks. -Larry in NY
Dear Larry, I feel your pain...I have been raising 9 hatchlings I obtained from two different breeders in 2000/2001. They have grown healthy, strong and beautiful in everyway, but alas, it only appears I have 2 females. Other are deffinately amorous males and the jury is out on a couple others. Suffice to say that adult females are prized and somewhat scarce. I will have males to trade! Good luck on your search. Vic Herrick in Nor-Cal
