Rack System

nz Jul 23, 2003 04:23 PM

I'm making a rack system and need to know how much extra room should I leave on the shelves? Sould they stick out two or more inches beyond the tubs?

I only have around 1/4". The snakes really cant push it open and this way it is close to the front where it can get natural light and is great for veiwing. BrianD

Try going to www.ballpython.ca and look at the rack system that Markus Jayne built that is called "the feeding machine." His rack is built in the most ideal way that allows a big thermal gradient and also a dark natural hide spot in the back with slightly opened portions of the front of the tubs which allow light to penetrate. I'm constructing one almost identical to it right now. Awesome design that's fairly easy to build.

Hope that helps.
