pattern retention

xenophon Dec 08, 2005 04:46 PM

How well do honduran milks, or milksnakes in general, retain their pattern? Do some tend to fade out like the mexican milk, or do they stay as vibrant as when they hatched. One of the old threads showed a honduran as it progressed and its pattern didn't change a whole lot. Is that normally to be expected?
Just looking for what to expect...
Thanks,
Quintin

Good question. Retain pattern, yes. But in the hondurans they develope black "tipping" which will sometimes wash out there pattern. Hypomelanism; reduced dark pigment, cleans them up. They are highly variable though, and prices vary too with pattern quality. Hope this helped!

Thanks! That was what I was looking for. I actually plan on getting two hypomelanistic ones.
