Need to ID this snake

Would love to know what this snake is if anyone can help.

I can't answer your question without some research that I'm too tired to do at this time, but I can tell you this: That was a harmless snake. Much more beneficial to you alive than dead.

I think it is a Elaphe radiata (Copperhead Ratsnake) in my opinion.

Chris just click propertys on his picture and copy his shortcut, then put it in ur html box. It looks like a Elaphe radiata to me. I even checked on that web site you just showed.

Yep, Jens Vindum from Cal Academy (that website you provided a link for) has identified it as a Elaphe radiata.

Imageshack gives me trouble sometimes. Today it worked, and I concur it is a radiata. And if Jens says so, I would have to agree even more.

Of course, I wouldn't know E. cantoris or E. leonardi if I stepped on one!
