ancient marbled salamander

weebeasties Dec 08, 2005 05:48 PM

Just curious to know if any one knows how old marbled salamanders can get? I have one I purchased in 1990 and he was full size then. His room mate was in my care for 14 years when he died. He was slightly larger. My remaining one seems as good as ever. Anybody have any other ancient salamanders?

They can live a pretty long time.
I don't know for sure, but my guess is anywhere from 15-25 years in captivity.
