Banded gecko issue

dvoss Dec 08, 2005 05:54 PM

Hi all,

Have Coelonyx banded gecko with a closed eye. Eats fine and this has has happened before, just not for this duration (over a week). There is no associated swelling but the eye does appear to be slightly "stuck" together. This is a 1.5 year old cb animal which produced fertile eggs this year. I routinely feed dusted crickets and waxworms, along with some wild fare. Anyone had this problem or have any recommendations on what might be causing it?

Thanks

May be an infection, sometimes they get eye problems, sandy/crusty and stuck shut with respiritory infection.

** You may want to have her checked out.

I never mess around when its the eyes. You can wipe the eyes with a cotton ball soaked in warm water, see if they will open, but still think she requires some professional help.

May need antibiotics Let us know how ya make out!
