question about housing bloods together

bloodpython7 Dec 10, 2005 03:20 PM

hi, i was just wondering if it's safe to house 2 or 3 bloods together if the enclosure is big enough? i have an 03 female and an 03 male and i have another male thats about 5 years old so do you think it would be ok to keep them all together. as of now my 03 male and female live together and theyve been fine living together since i got them as babies but i have a bigger male that i was gonna keep with them but i just wanna know how safe that would be before i do it. thanks for your time

I def rec against it unless you really have to.Bloods are very shy and defensive animals and housing more than one together beside breeding could cause unneede stress. But thats just my opinion maybe others disagree shaun t

Hey,
Male bloods are reputed to behave agonistically, in the presence of other males. I have not had personal experience with this type of reaction from communally housing males together in the same enclosure (nor do I intend to!). However, it has been proven that males of the blood and short-tail species, can behave negatively when housed together; especially in the presence of another female.
