Right temp

deanerh Dec 10, 2005 11:28 PM

New dragon, new cage, first time owner.

Checking the temp on the basking area with a wired digital thermometer I am getting 103 if I lay it on the basking platform, but I have the holder for the sensor attached to the edge of the platform so that it it sticking up in the air and the temp reading is 99. Is this too cool?

that temp sounds ok.make sure the cool side of the tank is around 80-82 deg. i use my temp probe on the actual spot he lays on and not the air temp.also i hope you use a uva/uvb bulb aw well.

GOOD LUCK,
VIPER
