>>I was wondering if anyone has opinions on this, since all of you have had or have corn snakes. I was told that they are great starters. I am looking for a snake that will not grow to more than 3-4 feet and that generally has a well tempermant and attitude. I have two savannah monitors, and no experience with snakes. Any input would be great.

Yes
Corn snakes are excellent beginner snakes.
They have a wide range of colors and patterns.
They have good appetites.
They do not require elaborate housing.
They are inexpensive (at least the more common morphs)
They tame well and are easy to handle.
Hatchlings can be a little nippy but that is simply due to the fact that everything is a threat to a little hatchling snake. They calm down as they get older.
Feeding is inexpensive. For one or two snakes you are talking no more then a couple of dollars a week, and much less if you buy frozen.
So, YES a corn snake is a great first snake
If you can handle savannah monitors there should be no problem with corns

Corn snakes and rat snakes..No one can have just one.
