Until now, I thought that the Rhadinea complex contained only about two subspecies, both native to the Southeastern United States. However, upon going to the link paired with the image and doing some research, I discovered that there is also a central American species. This particular specimen is from El Salvador. You learn something new everyday. What a beautiful little colubrid!
