How much is normal for a 1.5 month old veiled to bask? I know that veileds are baskers but it seems like mine is doing it an awful lot. Basking spot is about 95-100 and low temp is about 85.

There is no set answer because of a lot of variables. The temp in the room from day to night may be greater and it takes longer for him to reach "operating temp". If he eats a lot of food close to the end of the day it will take longer for him to digest it the next...and often chams bask to help them deal with a large meal. He could simply like the basking area because it is high up and he feels more secure there. It shouldn't matter how long he chooses to bask as long as he does eventually feel warm enough to start roaming his cage, drinking and eating. Also, as long as he doesn't get burned from getting too close to the light.
