Good Morning Forum!!!!!!

ajfreptiles Dec 12, 2005 09:07 AM

Yes!! She had her babies this morning!!!!

She had what looks to be 12 or 13 live healthy ones, 2 badly kinked ones that had to be put down... and 23 slugs.....I hate slugs!

Looks like only 4 Salmons....but they look very nice! One of the kinked ones would have been a very nice Salmon....I think the slugs may be the cause of these kinks.

They were born about 6am on December 12th 2005.

She was making her nest for them last night, and though I woke up several times to check on her...I got to her about 7am.

Hope you like!!

Have a great Holiday!

Andy Federico

Yes.....I still have 2 more females due soon!! Maybe another if she ovulates....

The next female may hold some surprise for me! She is a possible het albino and the male hypo I used is also a possible het albino....so if they both prove out things are great! If one misses though, I still will not know which could be a het.

To be continued....lol.

Thanks again, Andy

you'll get a few more of those unique babies.

Isn't this your female's second litter in the same calender year? That might be a first?

wetceal Dec 12, 2005 11:29 PM

that's exactly what I was thinking Chris! I think Andy mentioned that the babies from the first litter were born in February of 2005? Is that right Andy? If so, that is quite an accomplishment!

I've personally never heard of that before!

Congrats again and I can't wait to see some post-shed photos!

Thanks,
Celia

Thank you. Yes she did produce 2 litters in 2005! She is doing wonderful too!

After I washed her, I put her in another cage and had a large tub of warm water for her to soak in. She stayed in it for about 3 hours then came out looking for food. I thawed out 2 jumbo rats and she took them and still wants more, but maybe in a few more days one more.

I THINK Jeff Ronne mentioned in his Reptiles magazine article that one of his females dropped twice within the same year. Again, not sure...I'll go back and check when I get time. Either way, Congrats on the litter. Take care

Yes, it is her second litter in 2005!!! I gave it alot of thought, and then...when she was already swelling...and what looks to be missing the first part of ovulation, ....I decided to put the male in with her again.

It apears due to all the slugs that he did connect with at least one of the ovaries....

She had good weight and did very well the whole time.

Thanks Andy
