Mack Snow Breeding and Genetics

seboba17 Dec 12, 2005 03:17 PM

I'm very confused about snows. I know the breeding is different because of co-domincance, but other than that, I don't understand how it works. I'm looking for a rundown of how you would get snows. Are line bred snows co-dom? What about super snows? Any explanation would be great!

I don't know much about genetics, but I do know the Snows are one or the other, linebred or co-dom. The Super Snows are co-dom carrying 2 copies of the gene. Here are a couple of good sites that explain genetics:

line bred snows are in no way related.

mack snows are codominant. the codom versions showing a bit of yellow, normal eyes, and snow type patterncoloration. They are essentially "het" for the super form, all white, jet black eyes.
