I'm back!

FireDrake Dec 12, 2005 04:05 PM

I know I know, most of you probably dont remember me.... I bred some jungle corns a few years ago. Whoopee right?

I tried again last year with my amel corn and an albino king, she laid 3 duds and that was it. I had a yearling jungle that was mostly yellow and white with a bit of orange, very pretty. He escaped one night, and was out the same time my black mex king was, and I never did find him. I believe my black king ate him!
I gave up on hybrids to focus on my beardies. I'm trying again this year with a proven pair, my amel corn and a coastal calking. They made some very nice babies two years ago. ZFelician bought a pair of them from me. My problem is, I no longer have an adult female corn to trick my male with. I'm going to go ahead and try it without, see what happens. He's bred her before, maybe he will remember her?

Just wanted to say hi!

That's ok! The others I sold have all been sold again probably. I am glad to hear though that they still can be sold! One pair I sold ended up in Japan!!
One reason I backed off from hybrids is I didnt see many selling very well. I didnt want to be stuck with a whole bunch of babies not going anywhere!
I like your new website!
And hopefully I will have more babies this spring. The parents are brumating as we speak!

Hello Sarah, good to see you are still involved in the hobby. I had to cut my collection waaay back to a major upheaval in my life, but I still have 2 of the jungles I produced last year. Herps have definitely taken a back seat to my other hobby, but it should only be temporary. Good luck with your upcoming breeding projects.

I really wish I hadnt lost that jungle I had, he was gorgeous. I'm probably not going to do this in large numbers like I was planning before, but would like to continue. I just bought a bloored, pewter and caramel corn that in the future might make some interesting jungles!
And I am on the look out for a male black and white calking!!

I'm sorry to hear you don't have any hybrids anymore, Zenny. I may try to breed mine this summer, but that depends on my upcoming relocation.... the company I work for is pulling up stakes here in CA and moving to TN early next summer. Once I have my housing all worked out I will resume the herp hobby.
