I work 2nd shift and usually get home around 3am.Well on Sat. night(Sunday morn)at about 3:30 am I am just sitting down to watch the news and hear about all the different ways the world is going to hell in a handbasket, when I heard a familiar noise from the snakeroom (the snake just hammered a rat noise)well thats bad because I am on a 10 day schedule with everything I have big enough to make a noise that loud and its only day 5 and I never leave anything in with them.Anyway I jumped up and actually ran to the snakeroom, thats when I say my female 50% poss. het albino and my male albino wrapped up,the female had the male by the head and was obviously the agressor. They have been together hopefully mating on and off since Nov.1.She shows strong CA influence so she is only 5ft and roughly eight pounds. She is a 2001 model while the male is 4 ft roughly 2-2.5 pounds and is almost 22 months old.He has not been agressive in courtship if anything a bit sneaky.Anyone know why this has happened. They are seperated now and I have no plans of reintro. Thanks in advance

sounds crazy to me, but may not be all that out of the ordinary.... Depending on how long they've been in together with intentions of breeding, and also depending on which snake usually houses the cage, it could be somewhat normal.

Not everybody has this problem, but some people report that introducing the male into the females cage, may stir up the female because the females are typically bigger, and needless to say, the aggressor. It is not unusual for the female to attack a male introduced into her cage. For this reason, a lot of people place the female in the males cage.

Not sure if this is the situation with your snakes, but it very well may be. If you did put the male in the females cage, I might suggest reversing that, and watch very carefully.

Hope this helps

The female was introduced into the males cage on Nov 1 2005 for breeding purposes, and they have been together since. The only time they have been apart is for feeding. Thanks!
