Has anyone got any tricks for getting their beardeds to drink from a bowl.
I personally don't think you should keep a waterbowl in with your dragons.. especially if you have a closed cage/tank with low ventilation If you have a screen top that is a lot better. The water in a high temp environement raises the humidity to high and can cause respiratory problems. We just mist our dragons with a water bottle and it works pretty well.. no mess, no cleaning waterbowls, no dirty water to drink..
Having said that, you could try adding an air pump with a small air stone in the water bowl to give the water movement and attract the dragons to it. That works well with chameleons or setting up a dripping effect is even better.
I'd just go with mistng them once a day for sub-adults, three times a day for hatchinglings/juvies, and a few times a week for adults.
Just my take.

They have special bubbling bowls for this reason at stores, in case you were interested. I have a bowl for my beardie, but she doesn't drink from it, I spray her for drinking. But I like the bowl in there because sometimes she just likes to sit in it to cool off.

Take the water dish out of the cage!
Standing water in the cage can lead to problems that could otherwise be easily avoided.
A water dish in the cage will raise the humidity in the cage. That can lead to respiratory infections.
Also beardies can easily get sick from drinking water contaminated by poop bacteria. Kind of like people getting sick from E.coli.
The way to avoid this to give your beardy a bath in chest-deep hand-temperature water in a container OUTSIDE of its cage.
Swish the water around with your hand to entice it to drink. Misting it in the bath will encourage it to drink also.

OK I'll give up on the water bowl. The only thing it was good for was drowning crickets anyways.
Thanks for comments.
beardies dont need water bowls, they should get all the moisture they need from the greens they eat and from a bath 2 times a week. beardies in the deserts of Australia dont have access to standing water much of the year, all a water bowl will do is raise the humidity of your enclosure.
hope this helps
