are FIRES the next YELLOWBELLIES?????????????

billygn Dec 12, 2005 08:53 PM

It seem FIRES are turning up everywhere in CH groups. I've noticed a lot people at shows lately with them as well. If it were a stock would you sell and get out now? Or hold on until they sell for 1.5-2k like yellowbellies? I think a lot of people have them and don't even realize it yet. just a thought

Have any of the other lines proven yet? Even if they do all prove I doubt they will be that cheap any time soon and even if they are that's still a lot of money.

I would like to see a genuine hunter's guide though with side by side break down. Here is the best set of shots I've seen so far.

Thanks for that link, I have never seen those pics before, and they just reaffirm my belief that my adult Female that laid the Ember Ball eggs is indeed a Fire. The pics look identical to her, right down to the darkening of the pigment/color near the tail.

As far as if Fires will be the next Yellow Belly, I think the Yellow Belly is way undervalued right now, but cannot honestly see the going back up in price. I hope some new Fire crosses turn out nice.

The middle pic is of the female that produced the Ember Ball. I have no doubt that she will prove out to be a Fire. The top and bottom pics are of the female that produced the Mojave cross. I am not AS sure with her, but based on the light, light color of the Mojaves she produced, I think she is something, if not a Fire.

BUT... Remember that the Tom Carlton at Cypress Creek thought that he had fireballs too. Those are the ones that he called his Thunder balls. When he bred the Thunder balls together he didn't get any white snakes. Instead he got an even lighter looking animal that he calls his Lightning ball. Now IF this isn't a case of missing the odds and just producing an exceptional looking Thunderball. I'd say that this looks like it could be the case that not every 'fire' looking animal will produce white snakes.

I did not know Tom thought his "weather" Balls were Fires. I really have not paid too much attention to them, how do they age, do you have any new pics? I set out to DISprove my Embers, tried to prove they WERE NOT Fires, but instead, I feel very confident that they are because every trait I was told to look for, was found. Here are some pics of my adult female. Is there anything that tells you she is NOT a Fire? I know they are not the greatest pics.

The Ember pics, anything obvious saying that these are NOT Fires?
