I just shipped a box with UPS and for next day air they charged me $71.00 at the UPS STORE the box was 3lbs 16" x 12" x 6". Are you guys picking up the difference? because all I see in for sale ads is shipping $35-$40 for next day delivery. This is for live harmless reptiles. I was just wondering.. Thank you in advance for your comments.

UPS has adopted the dimensional weight pricing. Even though your box weighed 3 lbs, it is considered to be a 6 lb. package by UPS. To find out the dimensional weight of your box, use the following formula: (L X W X H)/192. So, as I said earlier, your box is considered to be a 6 lb package. That is why it costed so much to ship. I hope that makes sense.

I use the 12x9x6" boxes from Superior and they usually cost me $37-$45 to ship using UPS, but I prepare my shipment online and print a label. You get charged extra for going to the UPS Store.
