cage plan for Thorn

TonyZ Dec 12, 2005 11:02 PM

this cage will be 6ft long 2 ft deep and 3 ft high, it will be made out of a laminated wood much like a counter top, the sides will be 1/4 in with a wood grain on the outside and a tan marble on the inside, the top and bottum pieces will be 1 in thick with a nice oak trim and that same mable finish on the top, with sliding glass doors on the front. the inside height will be 30in and that will leave me with a space to run all my wireing, keep all that mess hidden.what im thinking for lighting is a 36in or 48in florecent uvb and a 150w floodlight on a dimmer for heat, dimmer sugested by JAKENTBC for temp controll. also the inside edges will be finished with aqurium silicon to water proof it and will have vents in the rear of the cage. i have also picked up some nice big rocks for play and basking, i have one really big one i am going to try to chisle a cave into, so i dont have to worry about a rock pile falling. let me know if i have left any thing out and what you think

do you think 1/4" wood will be sturdy enough? I guess if you never pick it up, it should be.
