Alright my friend, this is my first OFFICIAL year of breeding I am no breeding guru so i will try to help you out as best i can.if it is one thing that i have learned in my lifetime its not always HIS (the man's) fault it may be the female,go figure HA. if she doesnt feel like she is at her best like not having ample fat stores or maybe the conditions just arent right like maybe shes to warm it could be any # of things.these animals know what they wanna do and when they wanna do it SHE might not be ready for any # of reasons.how old is the unreceptive female she might be to young.a female might be 1500g but if shes only 2 yrs old she will either 1 breed with no problem and lay good eggs,2 breed lock up and you get a bunch of dead eggs,or 3 not breed at all, its up to them.now u can try this little method its not been proven but it did work for me a few times try introducing the FEMALE into the males cage and spray them with cool NOT COLD water to bring their body temp down maybe just enough to spark that interest, also what are u breeding them the male may not care but she might, pick up a 31qt sterilte container and put thm in that where they have to be closer to eachother sometimes that sparks interest,ALSO and last but not least a pot of water u keep watching will never boil, leave them alone check on them in the morning and at night if there gonna lock up believe me your not gonna miss it u have 24 hours to hit the jackpot. My male breeds all his fems 30 hours so ill see it when i wake up or go to sleeep or both. just put some more weight on your girl respectively dont powerfeed and let nature take its course there are plenty of late season hatchlings that only adds to the joy
