Neil,

Wonderful Radiated pictures. Since acquiring mine, they have become my favorite tortoises. They are more personable than any other species I have come across. Hopefully captive breeding will make these beautiful creatures more widely available than they are currently.

I'll put it this way, I own 300 ball pythons, 40 some tortsoise (sulcata's, redfoots, yellowfoot, hermanns, Leopards) and when I got this guy home, my wife said (for the first time) you have to put that one on display in a nice setup and not just a tub. Next think I know she spends $300 for a display setup and won't even let me feed him because she wants to "bond" with him. We love him and I'm currently looking to try and pick up a group of 5 or 6 more within the next year.

I myself kept a baby Radiated tortoise for 8 months and Didnt really notice its personailty come out till it hit about a year old or so. Most of the time the young Radiata was Very, Very shy around me and I felt that my 2 redfoots(columbian N cherry head) had a Lot More to offer personality wise. Still the fact that the Radiata was a Rare tortoise and Very beautiful made owning it a Rewarding experience and I regret that He was sold due to financial difficulties. Im gonna buy a pair of baby Burmese Stars in 2006 !!! Good luck Neil w/ your Gorgeous Little Radiata

That seems like a really pretty little radiata. They do have some kind of personality to go with their looks.
