Any known injuries or deaths by captive crocs?

goini04 Dec 13, 2005 03:49 PM

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone can point me to some information that shows recorded statistics of crocodilians that have injured their owners or surrounded neighbors, etc? We are getting ready to fight a state law banning exotics and just trying to get my stuff together.

Thanks for your help guys!

Chris

I saw a pretty bad thing happen in sarasota FL about 17 or 18 years ago. A 6' alligator named Scarface attacked and inflicted great injury to a keeper during an educational show at Jungle Gardens. They stabbed the gator in the ear with a pocket knife to kill it. The whole thing was messy, both literally and figuratively. I know this wasn't a private ownership issue but I just thought I would let you know. It made the papers down there so I'm sure you can find out more about it somewhere.
