my leachie is not doing well - please help

stickytoes4me Dec 13, 2005 06:13 PM

I got a leachie baby about a month ago. She was big and fat when I got her but suddenly she started losing weight. She is really skinny now and I don't know what I did wrong.

She has a UV light and I feed her baby food with the leachie powder mixed in. I use paper towel on the bottom of the tank and she has silk plants and wood half logs to climb on.

I've been feeding her by hand but she wouldn't eat last night. I mixed up a bit of the mixture with some pedialyte.

She is in the same room as my cresties and gargoyle and they are all doing well with the room temperature.

What am I doing wrong? How can I help her? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

one of the first things you could do is talk to the breeder and ask them for help. another thing that would be really helpfull, especially with a high end higher maintanence animal like a leachie, is find a good vet that has experience with herps. this is probably the most important thing you can do at the moment. considering how much you probably spent on your animal and how long you will be likely to own it, it will be well worth your time and money to take the animal into the vet to get it tested for internal infections etc. this is my advice, and good luck!
