HELP!!!!!

Shlacon Dec 13, 2005 07:01 PM

Today while feeding I found one of my 3-4 month old geckos with its eye swollen at least twice its normal size. I feed them last night and there was no noticeable problem then. The only mark is a little red spot on the lower side of the eyelid. I have never heard of anything like this. Any help would be awesome. Thank you very much!!!

jamie,

how many crested do you have in the enclosure? what are their ages/sizes? what are you feeding them?

If it happened that quickly, I'd say it is probably from a bite from another crested. The red mark you saw was probably from a tooth. Is the eyeball itself swollen, or just the area around the eye (like eyelids) look swollen? I'd put it in it's own enclosure and take it to the vet. Even if it is not from a bit, it is swollen and likely to get infected. Good luck with your little guy. I hope he gets back to normal in no time!
