Water temp?

koashmar Dec 14, 2005 01:43 AM

Well, my two little turtles are growing like weeds - I bought them a heater for their tank because the home temp is cooling down a little and they were beginning to act lethargic. I have them at 75 degrees F right now - sound ok? Should it be a little warmer?

They have a basking light over their floating dock BTW.

Thanks

First, what kind of turtles are they? I would say that the water would need to be around 80 degrees(F).

What species? I don't know.

I thought they were yellow bellied sliders but the coloring isn't quite right and I got some other suggestions. What do you think?

FWIW, the tank looks smaller in the pics because the camera cuts off right at the heater which is only about half way down. The two of them share a 55g (48" x 12"
