handling crested

jonthefb Jul 23, 2003 08:49 PM

i know with many reptiles out there, there is an unspoken "look but dont touch" idea to the keeping of the animals. how does this apply to cresteds? ive had my little guy now for exactly a week and he is enjoying crickets, and baby food, and i try to handle him at least once a day...is this too much? do they stress from handeling very easily? just wondering cause i dont want to jeopardize the health of the little guy!
thanks in advance
good luck

There's no 'look but don't touch' rule, except for certain species. The majority of pet reptiles tolerate handling well. I even gently handle my cat geckos once in a while, and they're supposed to be more delicate than cresties. As long as the little guy is eating well, there's no reason not to enjoy him!
