Carpet question

nogard Dec 14, 2005 05:33 PM

Do irian jayan carpet pythons regularly go off feed during winter like most ball pythons, I am speaking of adults, our carpet fed regularly every week since we had him and the past three weeks he has shown no interest in eating,
thanks

Yes, they will fairly regularly go off feed in the winter, but I would not go as far as to say "like ball pythons." In my experience carpets are about 10 times more consistant with their feeding than ball pythons are. But ya, no worries. If you want him back on feed I would just keep offering an item once every couple of weeks or so. If you don't care if he goes back on feed I would just wait a month and then offer again. Good luck!

Yeah, I am with the other Ben on this one. Male Carpets of all types may stop eating in the winter. Some do, some don't.
Don't fret. If he ate well before, he will eat well again.
Good Luck
