do you have any pics of your set up for your bp?and can you give me a discription of it?i saw a pic with part of it in the pic and it looked really neat!

Please keep in mind that I'm a newbie as well. I think I've done a reasonably good job listening to what more experienced people say, but I haven't been doing this for long and haven't seen other people's set-ups. However, this is what I have. My tank is a 55 gallon long which is about 48 x 13 x 16, so those numbers will help you understand the scale of what you're seeing.

The first picture shows my latest setup with many features identified. The second picture shows a temperature survey that I took last night with a PE-2 temperature gun.

The thermostat controls the clamp lamp that you see on top of the cage and the UTH that is mounted on the left side wall of the aquarium. I have another UTH covering about 2/3 of the aquarium bottom and keep that UTH on continuously. The light box across the top of the aquarium has incandescent lights for heating, but I rarely use them anymore. Mostly, I just use the fluorescent to see and to take pictures. The clamp lamp has a 60 watt black light bulb, but I may go to a 75 watt someday. I talk more about the details in threads that I started over the past week or so.
