Where can I purchase a nice horned frog

Hey i'm all set and know what i need to know to take care of a pac man frog. Now all i need is the frog. Where do you guys purchase your frogs? I've been going to PETCO and Petsmart, and their frogs aren't good looking. Where do you guys recommend me to buy a pac man frogs? Is there a really good site for these frogs? Also, now that fall is approaching, is it aboslutely necessary to buy a heater? thanks for helping me

Don't give petstores your money for abusing animals. Buy directly from a breeder here on kingsnake's classifieds.

Right, or just call around various pet stores, even if they are not a franchise, and try your luck. A really good site to go for horned frogs, is www.geocities.com/tozgood/home.html . Yes, I recommend that you have a heater on, even during summer. My family likes air conditioning, plus it makes it like 80 or so, and really shoots the humidity up and my frog used to never eat, until I got a heating pad. I hope that this helps.

Now that I got that out of the way, try one of your local rinky dink pet shops if you have any. I bought mine from a little no name shop we got here pretty cheap and my frog is doing very nicely. The ones I bought from petco on the other hand cost me much more and didnt do as well.

Oh ok, well you might have to look around then and ask. And you can never really tell what the frog will look liek once it's full grown, my male was almost completely green as a baby now he's almost completely brown. So you will have to look around.

yeah I never thought of the color changes. Well, I live in Irvine, CA and there aren't too many great petstores around here. There is Prehistoric Pets, but i'm not sure if they have a lot to choose from. thanks for the help ppl
