Morph Question

phiber_optikx Dec 15, 2005 05:25 AM

I was wondering how color pattern effects attitude.... It shouldn't at all IMO. But I have heard several referances such as "Butters prefer lizards" and several others. How would color have anything to do with it?

...lineage mostly. Snakes from similar lineage stand a higher chance of being similar. Especially if they're inbred a bit. Outcrossing tends to mix things up and is often what's used to separate unwanted behavior from a color morph. For example, bloodreds used to be notorious for being lizard-feeders. People outcrossed them to snakes that ate pinks readily, and now you can find bloodreds who'll take a pink for their first meal.
