newly wild caught wtf's aren't eating...please help

thodej Dec 16, 2005 12:55 AM

I just got in 6 wild caught indo wtf's. Two have died and two more won't eat. The other two are flourishing. I had them all in one very large tank with cocunut fiber floor, some plants with organic soil (no fertilizer). A wide variety of temp ranges. From 70 to 90 during day and 60 to 75 during the night. About 50% humidity with a large water dish with distilled water. And some branches.

I recently seperated the two that won't eat. These two aren't very active. Stay dark all the time, sometimes dark green but mostly brown.

I suspect that it might be some sort of parasites rather than setup due to the two that are full of energy, color, and appetite.

Any ideas on what I could do or change. This is the first time with amph. as I have a long history with reptiles.

Thanks
Josh

If you aren't taking them to the vet, I'd recommend boosting the temps so that it is a minimum of 75-80 both day and night.

And in the future I'd not let them temps get much below 70 at night. They are tropical animals and lower temps will cause problems.

Good luck!

Go to

and get them to a reptile Vet. Sounds like stress/parasites. With so many CB WTF's around why buy WC?
