A little confused.....

phiber_optikx Dec 16, 2005 02:35 AM

Someone is a little confused. Peaches thinks she is a green tree python... i know it's a crappy pic but it was just a snapshot.

Actually, black rats are pretty arboreally inclinined (I think I just made up a word there!). If you go out in the woods in the spring and summer, try looking in the trees as you walk. You will be surprised at how many black rats are looking at you (if you are in an area that has them). Black rats love to climb.

I hope I didn't offend you.... a lot of people don't know that about black rats. She is a beauty!

I am not offended at all. I applaud you for trying to inform. I was just stating that I was aware that they are arboreal. The photo was posted simply for your viewing pleasure.

Well thank you and I love seeing pics of black rats! I think they are the most under rated pet snake in the hobby. You just can't beat a good albino black rat for beauty or a better captive.

phiber_optikx Dec 17, 2005 02:38 PM

I agree that they are under rated. I am disapointed with the way peaches colors are changing. She has faded drastically since she was born. Her brother is holding color a lot better than her but still has faded.

Here is a picture of peaches a few months ago. She was blue but even then she was darkewr than she is now.

Here she is now.

And here is her brother who is looking great!

He looks like my male.

phiber_optikx Dec 18, 2005 03:14 PM

He's definately a keeper. I am hoping to get white phase from pairing mine together.
