I find it very rude that some would comment that there are too many of a certain type of pic being posted. First off people can post all day i.e. If I post 6 pics Im not taking away someone elses posts they can still post what they want...get it ? Me and many others take the time to take pics and upload them and then post them here for all to see and enjoy. I think anybody who would complain about something like that is a JERK plain and simple. I dont think you ever seen me post a "hey man am I sick of Brooksi pics" post. I would never its simply disrespectful. For guys like Jetzen, myself and many others who post pics here its an insult and Im sure that was the intention of the comments. Lets try and keep it civil I knpow that will be a tremendous task for some and maybe even a little for me but Im trying

...there is a place and time for everyone here. From the beginner to the "expert". From the person who posts pics of "my first snake" to the pro with lots of snakes or $1000's in photo eqipment.
The one thing that can be annoying with pics is that in this format at least, other posts can be pushed downward so to speak.
I have that minute to spare so I don't mind.
I often post a pic or three and enjoy seeing what others post and also their replies to mine. It's the comraderie that comes from this, from people sometimes thousands of miles apart, that I enjoy.
Maybe that is not everyone's take and that is fine.
Perhaps Rainer said what he did just to ruffle your feathers a bit Keith (much as a kid with a spitball in class)but I seriously doubt he meant anything other than good natured ribbing. Or perhaps I'm way off. If the word eastern had been replaced by thayeri or anything else, would you have been offended?
Whatever, keep the pics and the dialogue coming folks. It's winter and all but let's keep this all in perspective, huh?
I mean, there are those of us who are in need yet I am in a warm house with electricity and water, playing on a computer and looking at snakes on the net for goodness sake!
You??

Yep posts can be pushed down but if you really wanna read the forum you will. Posts withpout pics push posts down as well Mark so I dont think thats really a valid issue.

Well geeze Keith, I thought that would be obvious. I guess I should have stated that posts of pics only, followed up by posts with pics only, by the same author, tend to do that. (as opposed to being included in the same post)... Hey, I'm as guilty as anyone for that. Mostly due to a slow brain and terrible comp. skills.
So would you have been offended if it (offending post)was worded differently as I asked??
I personally like to look at EVERY pic. That's why I have so many animals now! I can't resist the candy before my eyes.
In fact, there are times I like to look at the images and skip the dialogue. Just depends but as stated earlier I have the minute it takes to go through them all. Kinda like flipping through a magazine for the pics??

showing off your hi-end hondo herd, lol, very nice!

Keith Hillson Dec 17, 2005 01:13 PM

My point is dont look if you dont wanna see em. Im not going to go out and buy a bunch of different Kings so I can post pics of other subs, its not my responsibility. Ill post pics of what I have if you choose to look thats on you. I can turn it around and say dont post pics of Hondurans because someone else did already and once you have seen one youve seen em all. In the spirit of the Holidays why dont you and Rainer try and not to get your feathers ruffled by posts that "bug" ya.

Merry X Mas

One of the reasons I've always loved this particular forum is seeing the variety of kings posted. I never tire of seeing Eastern kings, but then again they are one of my favorites. I think most of the posters on here are good about identifing the "subject" when they are going to post a picture. The beauty of that is, you can skip right over it if you can't stomach one more photo of an Eastern, brooks, or whatever it might be. I was going to throw in another Eastern King pic just for Rainer, but I'll give him a break and post my Prairie King. Just messing with you Rainer.

the biggest king i ever owned was a huge floridana, but i think we can agree that the TRUE getula king is the L.g.getula.
thanks for sharing.

JETZEN Dec 16, 2005 11:44 PM

too many easterns so post as many as you want, esp. the fine line chain, low-band count, classic B/W's, I'm gonna go to your resource site and check some out right now, later

xelda Dec 17, 2005 12:07 AM

I agree. I think the photos are one of this forum's best strengths . For some of the rare and not-so-rare localities and morphs, you won't find pictures anywhere else on the web. I spend quite a bit of time perusing the archives to look at photos that were posted years ago.

Xelda, I've always loved that picture in your sig. Kind of looks like your holding down a bear cub, LOL What kind of dog is that, if I might ask?

Steve

xelda Dec 18, 2005 01:44 AM

Steve, I'm not sure since we took her in as a stray. She looks like some type of bull terrier.

I've misplaced the other pictures I have of her, but here is a bigger version of the one in my signature.
