In an online trade, if the person sends the snake first but never gets what he traded for, what can be done? What if its out of state?

If you have the chumps' name then maybe you could pursue federal charges of internet fraud. What happened? Did someone not send you a snake that was promised to you? This is one main reason why I only deal with well known and established breeders,.. or close acquaintences thereof.

It was one of the people who help me operate my store, he send them a baby albino granite, and the prick sent us a "haha i have your snake and you cant do anything email" Im pretty sure we have his name. In order to know who to ship it to dont they have to give you there real name? or can they give a fake name but the right address and it will go?

It depends on where the crime was committed, I think...you have to get his name, I think, and then the district attorney, or the DA, will press charge on them in that county and state, get a warrant, and then have him arrested. I have no idea how to press charge on the guy from another state. How much money is involved? I don't think it's worth it. How much was the snake? you might want to speak to a lawyer, and don't exagerate or lie even just a little. The judge and defendant lawyer are trained to picked up lies and tell the jury how to decide a verdict. That can hurt you in court. I think this is a federal offense fraud. Or maybe they'll advice you to to take your case to a small claim court which doesn't permit a lawyer.

the same thing happened to me in 1999 and I contacted the state attorney general's office in their state with a consumer fraud complaint. The office sent a letter of inquiry by registered mail and they brushed it off. The second letter came with an intent of prosecution and they lied in the reply. I was given the right to address the statements made in their letter and they had a right to reply to my letter. That was it for me. I kept good records and they got scared. I received a pair of boas het for albino (which I never proved out and took a loss on anyway)and I dropped the charge of consumer fraud. The State Attorney General take s a serious interest in internet fraud and will be helpful to you. In 1999 I was even able to file a complaint on line so do a search and find the website and get started. Best wishes,
