Could I build a vivarium for leos out of pine? I know it's bad to use as a substrate, but does general contact with it have negative effects? If it's bad in it's raw form, is there anything i can do to it to make it better for leos? I'm just wondering because there aren't many cheap woods, and pine is pretty much all they have at Lowes.
Also, on a different note. I have a rubbermaid container
30" x 10", 16" tall. I want to put something in it, but I don't know what kind of temps these can hold up to. Would I be safe keeping a young uro in it that needs temps of over 110 degrees? Also I got the idea to cut out one side of the container and replace it with plexiglass to make a very cheap but fairly attractive vivarium, has anyone else tried this? Do you think it would work?
