I see a splendida influence in this one, anyone else?

Yeah I am definitely thinking that.
Either that it or the snake is one of those "Mendota" cali kings, the ones that are melanistic-ish, but with visible bands.

californiae/splendida/nigrita are much, much, much more closely related than what we realize, i wonder how far different they are in DNA?
Some think splendy's and nigrita's are one and the same. I dunno but would think cali's have a little bit of separation from the other two. I would love to get my friends snake tested but we're as po' as church mice, LOL!

How much do you think DNA testing would cost? And i wonder if it's ever been done to compare the three?
I would imagine upwards of 300 or so, I don't really know. It would be cost prohibitive for me, I know!
