Shedding twice in one month?!?

chamcham505 Dec 17, 2005 11:34 AM

Hey Everyone,

First off, Im going to be gone for 7 days (vacation in Hawaii!) Recently, Cobalt has had some shedding problems due to humidity. I just purchased and installed a cool mist humidifier, and it has greatly increased the overal humidity. After I purchased the humidifier, he completed his shed, although the skin he shed off was almost transparent it was sooooo thin! This only happened a week ago, and this morning when I went to turn on his light, he literally bursted into a shed, and completed the ENTIRE shed within 4 hours! Is that unusual for a mature Panther Chameleon to shed twice in 2 weeks? Just wondering...Thanks so much!

Michele

Under normal circomstances, probably not, but I assume that since it was too dry when he did it the first time, there was still a lot of shed skin (Or soon to be shed) that needed to go. I bet hes going to have glorious colours now!

Just as long its not some sort of skin problem! Thanks for the quick response, Will...Really appreciate it! His colors are the BEST I have ever seen, his ENTIRE body is a deep blue, with light blue bars...Ill have to get some pics up soon.
