I've been told overhead heat was the only way to go with these. MUST I 
????Or will a UTH suffice? Was told they would eat better this way. Thanks.

By whom? I haven't kept muelleri, but I've kept a lot of different sandboas and I've never heard of one that didn't do great with UTH and a gradient.

Thanks Chris. It was one of those "guy that knows a guy that keeps them" kind of things. I'd been corresponding with a kid in South Africa whose friend said it was what worked best for muelleri. I have been using a CHE for almost a year now with no negative issues. I'm going to pick up a few UTHs Tuesday for a couple of other critters I have so I'll pick one up for them then. Most of what I have are nocturnal so I keep away from over head lights anyway.
