A question about adult kings...

Cl0wn Dec 17, 2005 07:09 PM

Well I bought a huge rubbermaid today, its 36"L, 20"W only 6 or 7" high for 10 dollars and I think its classified as a blanket box. Do adults need tall rubbermaids? or can they do fine at only 6 or 7 inches of height to lift their heads up. Specifically a mexican black kings.

That should do fine, Just make sure you put something heavy on the lid or your kingsnake will escape in no time at all.

You can go to Home Depot and buy a bag of small bungee cords for less than $2. Strap two or three of them across your cage, hooking the lid onto the lip of the tub.

Stacking books or other heavy things is never a full proof way to secure a cage, in my opinion. If a king wants to get out, it'll find a way to squeeze out. All it takes is for your heavy stuff to slid an inch or two in the other direction to provide enough leeway.

By the way, I keep MBKs too. Awesome snakes. Have you had yours for very long?
