Jumping Beardie

chunks_89 Dec 18, 2005 04:10 PM

I have a male bearded dragon who is nearing 2 years old.
For about 5 to 30 minutes on a random day, he will jump around quite noisily around his enclosure. The enclosure is about 3 feet long and and a bit over a foot high. He is clearly trying to get out and he has succeded a couple times. When he is out he simply rests on the shelf above the enclosure. It's easy to keep the cage closed so the escaping part isn't the problem, it's the trying to escape. I'm afraid he might hurt himself. The most probable thing i could think of is that he's hungry and trying to find more food. He's pretty much only eating veggies now. What are your suggestions on what to do?

Thank you very much.

Sorry that's an old picture of my bro's old chameleon that I posted by accident.
