newbie here: handling question

bethyjean Dec 18, 2005 05:27 PM

i just got colby yesterday (such a pretty baby, too!) & i am wondering how long i should wait to let him acclimate to his new surroundings. the store said a couple weeks but i would like him to get used to me, so when should i start picking him up?

sorry if this is a repost anywhere, as well!

I usually wait until they have eaten for me.

It might eat right away, or it might need time to settle in.
just wait a day or two after it eats.

If you didn't ask, I would find out what they were feeding him/her at the store and offer the same thing.
Also ask when the last feeding was so you can stay on his schedule.

hope that helps
