Golden hiding on substrate

I've got 2 goldens in a 30 gallon tank. They were tankmates in the pet store, and came home as a pair. They were rather mobile, but now one seems to be hiding down on the substrate, under the branches & stuff I've got in there. Is this anything to be concerned about? Even after a misting it doesn't want to move. I'm guessing it's eating, as all the crickets I put in disappear, and the other one (which seems "normal" isn't rushing after all of them. They were "lying" together for a while, could they be mating? If so, or if they have already done so, how long before I should look for eggs?
