dsheldon Dec 18, 2005 10:18 PM

I have a question for you guys. Which are healthier for beardies? Roaches or crickets? If roaches is the answer then I want to start a colony and would like to know which kinds of roaches are the best for them in order from best to worst. Thanks alot guys I just want to see if its worth it and if so what kind i should get....I was offered 100 lobster roaches for $18 shipped so it's almost like a crcket order for me anyway...Thanks for the help

roaches are better th an crickets for bearded dragons. However certain kinds of roaches have a hard exoskeleten and not as great for bearded dragons. Discoids are good, not 100% sure with lobster roaches. The feeder forum has information about various roaches as well.

Roaches work very well and you will see great results with diet and weight. For dragons larger species like discoids and dubia are much better. Most people jump on lobsters because they are cheap, but the climbing is a pain and they don't get very big. Look under Help and Support for species and care info.
