infared doesnt give off UV does it?

they are two different types of rays.. If i were to get a crestie i was going to get a red light. But the red lights dont give off the UVB that is good for the lizards skin. am i right?

Which would you suggest for daytime heating?

Red bulbs don't produce UV, but you don't need a UV source for crested geckos. With proper nutrition (an easy thing to accomplish with commercial Crested Gecko Diet powder), they'll get all the vitamin D they need from food. Since they're nocturnal and hide during the day (assuming you give them shelters to hide in), they wouldn't be exposed to rays from a UV source anyway. It's possible for them to get too much vitamin D, and if you used a UV source you might need to reduce the amount they get in food, which would be pretty much impossible to calibrate.
