calci sand
That calci sand stuff is not worth it. It is overly expensive, and contrary to what they seem to imply, animals CANNOT digest it. In fact, it tends to bind up even more so than regular sand, so it could likely be even worse for promoting impaction.
For my turtles, I just use either play sand, silica sand, or concrete/grouting sand, all available from your local hardware supply for MUCH cheaper than either Calci sand or the River bed sand. They will need some extra washing, but so does the calci sand.
If childrens playsand is ok, you can get a 50 pound bag of washed playsand for $2.50 (yes, you read that right) at Lowes.
I use it for some lizards I have. Excellent stuff.
